• Fresh off an overtime victory in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the University of Michigan men’s lacrosse team (10-6) takes on top-seeded No. 1 Duke in the second round of the tournament on Saturday (May 20) at Casey Stadium in Albany, N.Y. The contest, slated for a 2:30 p.m. start, will be broadcast on ESPNU.

• Michigan is coming off its first-ever NCAA Tournament victory in a thrilling 15-14 overtime upset win over No. 6 Cornell on Sunday (May 14). The win propels the Wolverines to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, where the Wolverines will take on No. 1-ranked and top-seeded Duke. U-M is one of three Big Ten teams remaining in the tournament along with Penn State and Johns Hopkins.

Michigan junior quarterback J.J. McCarthy led the Wolverines to their first-ever 13-win season, highlighted by a 45-23 drubbing of Ohio State in Columbus. McCarthy became the first U-M quarterback to throw 3 touchdowns of 45-plus yards in a single game against the Buckeyes.

McCarthy finished 12-of-24 passing for 263 yards and 3 scores.

A throwback to Michigan’s last-second victory over Notre Dame in 2021, former head coach Brady Hoke’s first season at the helm. Denard Robinson, now in a support staff role, connected with wideout Roy Roundtree in the end zone to beat the Irish.
