Distinguished journalist and Michigan alum Scott Bell with a friendly reminder about the Wolverines football team’s most recent result against each of its rivals. The Maize and Blue beat Michigan State and Ohio State by 22 points last season, destroyed Notre Dame by 31 in 2019 and beat Minnesota by 25 points in 2020. While Penn State isn’t necessarily considered a rival, the Nittany Lions have been one of the better programs in the Big Ten East in recent seasons, and the matchup with the Wolverines has been a marquee one each year.
Michigan running back Blake Corum revealed this week that he’s feeling 98 percent ahead of the team’s first fall camp practice Aug. 2. The U-M program Twitter account provided a nice highlight of Corum from last season.
Michigan junior running back Donovan Edwards made his decision in blistering cold and snowy conditions at West Bloomfield (Mich.) High on Signing Day 2020. Both U-M and Ohio State were possibilities at the end, but Edwards, of course, chose the former. Two years later, he returned to Ohio State — where he had visited as a recruit on multiple occasions — to deliver knockout blows in the form of 75- and 85-yard touchdown runs in a blowout win over the Buckeyes.

Quote Of The Day
“The pitch and communication is about what’s taking place for the current roster — what kind of opportunities players have at any position, what sort of deals are taking place,” Wangler said. “And the earning targets for those guys is comparable to what you’re seeing around the country, which is awesome. If you share info about where your starting quarterback, running back, right tackle is … that sells. Not only that, you’re actually able to show them tangibly how it’s done versus around the country, where you’re seeing at other schools their pitch to start was just telling them a number. The kids have no idea where the number comes from or how it’s even NIL.”
