Michigan EDGE Josaiah Stewart had a standout week at Senior Bowl practices ahead of Saturday’s game (2:30 p.m. ET on NFL Network). He caught up with the Dorm Debate Podcast on the field and discussed some different topics, including on Michigan’s win over Ohio State.
Stewart discussed Michigan’s entrance into Ohio Stadium before the 13-10 win, which marked the Wolverines’ fourth straight victory in the series. The Wolverines walked down the tunnel blasting music on a speaker, before getting booed by over 100,00 fans. They were the enemy — persona non grata — and then stunned the red-wearing and red-faced Buckeye Nation.
“It really felt like we were going into uncharted territory, everybody in that building was against us, in our eyes, and to be honest, they really were,” Stewart said. “Walking in there, it really looked like the Colosseum. The crowd is watching, they’re cheering.
“It was a wild moment.”
Former Michigan defensive back Mike Sainristil, now a Washington Commanders standout, attended high school with Stewart and played a part in Stewart transferring from Coastal Carolina to U-M.
“It played a small role, but he was just speaking facts,” Stewart said. “He was just saying we’re a winning program, this is a place that produces NFL talent, especially on that front. And we win games. I love winning; I hate losing even more. So I’d be a fool not go go.”
Stewart discussed what he does in his free time.
“Big video game guy,” Stewart noted. “But not your usual Madden. I play Madden, 2K, Call of Duty. But I’m more of a single player guy.
“I have an English bulldog. He’s a pain right now.”
Michigan has expressed interest in 2027 Fishers (Ind.) High four-star point guard Jason Gardner Jr., along with a slew of other schools, in the early going. Gardner is a four-star recruit and the nation’s No. 17 overall prospect, per On3.
Michigan vs. Michigan State is later this month, and the Champions Circle Collective is offering VIP game experiences.
