Newsstand: Inside FanDuel Sportsbook’s most recent Big Ten hoops title odds

Michigan Wolverines men’s basketball (16-5, 8-2 B1G) is in the thick of a Big Ten regular season championship race that is starting to take shape entering February. According to the most updated odds from FanDuel Sportsbook, U-M is the third-most likely team to wear the conference crown at +300 as of Monday morning.
Michigan State and Purdue lead the way at +155 and +185, respectively. Michigan will play three games down the stretch against the teams in front of them with a rematch against Purdue at home on Feb. 11 and home-and-home vs. MSU on Feb. 21 and in East Lansing on March 9.
The odds drop off after that with Maryland next in line at +1700, followed by Illinois (+2500), Wisconsin (+3400) and UCLA (+3900).
If Michigan cannot win a regular season title, a top-four finish in the conference is the next most valuable achievement. It would give them a double bye in the Big Ten Tournament, sending them straight to the quarterfinals on the Friday of the event, held this year at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Currently, the Wolverines would be a No. 3 seed and play either the No. 6 seed or the winner of the 11 vs. 14 game on Wednesday night. If the tournament started today, those teams would be Wisconsin, Ohio State or Nebraska, respectively.
Michigan’s next game comes Wednesday at home against Oregon, losers of their last three games. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET at Crisler Center. Big Ten Network will broadcast the event.

Michigan quote of the day
“I’m just being honest … we all put a lot of time and effort into our craft. We want to perform well; we want to play well. One of the most difficult things is just trying to get guys to give it all to their teammates when it’s not going well for them, just know it’s going to come around if you continue to work. Honor the process.”
