Tweets Of The Day

Former Michigan analyst Connor Stalions is the new defensive coordinator at Detroit Mumford High School, under head coach William McMichael.

Stalions resigned from his post at Michigan last fall, after becoming the centerpiece of an NCAA investigation into the program for alleged off-campus scouting. The bylaw in question, 11.6.1, was put into place in the 1990s as a cost-cutting measure and, if broken, per the NCAA, provides no major competitive advantage.

Neither Stalions nor Michigan has received a notice of allegations from the NCAA regarding the matter, but he hasn’t landed at another college. He’s now in the high school ranks, and McMichael is fired up about hiring him.

“I got the most hated man in college football right now, Connor Stalions,” McMichael said in an interview with The Detroit News. “He’s my defensive coordinator.

“He’s great with the kids, has an outstanding football mind and we’re learning a lot — not just the kids, but the coaching staff. He’s a great addition to what we’re doing. He can help prepare the kids for college. They are learning the lingo, how they practice college and how they break down film, so it gives the kids an advantage.”

Former Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh shares his thoughts on former U-M quarterback J.J. McCarthy’s season-ending knee injury. McCarthy was the No. 10 overall pick in this spring’s NFL Draft to the Minnesota Vikings.

Jim Harbaugh on J.J. McCarthy’s season-ending injury:

“I know how the story’s gonna end with J.J. I’ve seen this movie before. There’s nothing that can keep him down. It’s not gonna be life-altering. Bump in the road.” pic.twitter.com/a6O34JFGLy
