Newly offered WR Dillon Alfred: ‘I have strong interest in Auburn’
Dillon Alfred, a 2025 wide receiver prospect from Gautier (Miss.) visited Auburn with a large group of prospects from all over the state of Mississippi. He left Auburn’s campus with a brand new Tigers’ offer.
The word seems to be getting out about Alfred as he has attended camps and junior days at several big schools, but he claims only two offers so far: Auburn and Ole Miss.
Alfred, the 6-foot, 167 pound prospect, has been a play maker for Gautier High School. He plays multiple positions but has broken out as a receiver. Alfred hauled in 42 receptions for 1,013 yards and 15 touchdowns as a sophomore. In his last three games, Alfred has made 19 receptions for 418 yards and seven touchdowns.
Alfred’s second visit to Auburn was certainly a memorable one.
“I initially visited Auburn on January 28th and met Coach (Marcus) Davis,” Alfred said. “We had a great conversation about Auburn football program. Today I traveled up with a big group from Mississippi for a spring visit. After a great conversation with Coach Davis today I was blessed to receive an offer to play football for Auburn.”
Auburn likes him at receiver
Alfred is specifically seen as a wide receiver for Auburn and is mainly in contact with Auburn receivers coach Marcus Davis.
“On this visit I spoke directly with Coach Davis only about a wide receiver position,” Alfred said. “On my first visit we discussed my ability to be a dual receiver to play slot or wideout.”
After two visits to Auburn, Alfred is already looking forward to his next visit. As his recruitment continues to take off, the Tigers will be near the top of his list, he says.
“I have a strong interest in Auburn,” Alfred said. “Had a really great experience today and it was great to talk with Coach Davis again. I look forward to visiting Auburn again in the near future and attending a fall football game.”
