New RPM logged for Florida native Joseph Ionata

CaneSport has logged a new On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine prediction for Clearwater (Fla.) Cavalry Christian 2024 three-star interior offensive lineman Joseph Ionata to land at Miami following his weekend visit to Coral Gables.

Ionata locked in an official visit for this summer after weeks of the Hurricanes’ coaching staff pushing, and the 6-foot-4, 260-pound prospect has said Miami leads his group of top schools of FloridaOle Miss and Georgia Tech. And his interest in the Canes is only rising after his trip to Coral Gables, which is why CaneSport entered a RPM prediction of 70% confidence in favor of Miami.

Ionata loves Miami offensive line coach Alex Mirabal’s coaching style and history of player development, and he likes head coach Mario Cristobal’s emphasis on building a team front to back. The Hurricanes are recruiting him at all five positions but think he would best fit as a long, athletic center, which the three-star prospect is open to. The staff told him they envision him being similar to transfer center Matt Lee, who also impressed him on his trip.

The Canes showed him everything he needed to see on his trip, which he largely wanted to take to interact with the staff in person and view how Mirabal teaches in a classroom setting. He thinks Miami has everything it needs to help him fulfill his dream of playing in the NFL and was wowed by the staff’s dedication to player improvement and detail in practice.

The Canes are the first program for Ionata to lock in an official visit to, and he thinks Miami can bring out the best in him. Miami has made him a priority recruit during his weekend visit and haven’t slowed down on communication. He receives daily texts from the staff and has weekly FaceTime calls with different coaches, including Cristobal, who has been involved in his recruitment as well.

Ionata enjoyed his Miami visit so much he was interested in taking an official visit by the afternoon and had his visit locked in by that evening. He called Miami “an awesome place” that he knows he wants to return to, which he will this summer.

The Canes and Ionata seem to have an equal amount of interest in each other, which bodes well for both sides, although Miami isn’t rushing many prospects in the 2024 class to quickly commit.

But Ionata has solidified his interest in the Canes and will undoubtedly be a name for Miami fans to keep an eye on as players start taking official visits this summer.
