New On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine pick for Texas
The Texas Longhorns have successfully recruited out of state under Steve Sarkisian and staff.
In the classes of 2022 and 2023 combined, Texas signed prospects from the states of Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, California, Arizona, New Jersey, Washington, Utah and Hawaii.
After missing out on 5-star Duce Robinson out of Arizona in the 2023 cycle, I’m entering an On3 Recruiting Machine Prediction at 65% for the Longhorns to sign one of the top prospects in the state in the 2024 cycle.
Texas offered Mountain Pointe running back Christian Clark on January 27, 2023. That was shortly after Steve Sarkisian and Jeff Banks were in the Phoenix area watching 2023 wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane and visiting Robinson, among others.
Since that time, running backs coach Tashard Choice and Sarkisian have quickly built a solid relationship with the 6-foot-0, near 200-pounder in a short amount of time. After Clark made an unofficial visit to Texas March 25 for Junior Day, there was some chatter that the Longhorns were ascending to the top of the list along with USC.
Since that time, there has been more talk about Texas’ standing on the West Coast. In the last two days, intel received said the Longhorns are considered the favorite by those in the state of Arizona.
The Longhorns are planning to sign two running backs in the 2024 class. There are already a number of On3 RPM picks in for Sunshine State 4-star Jerrick Gibson to end up in Austin. And now there is one for Clark to end up at Texas as well.

“My mom always tells me that Austin is a great place to be. I can’t wait to get down there and really see it. I just like the culture of Texas. I like, of course, the history, Bijan (Robinson), Ricky Williams. When he was there, I loved watching him.”
As a junior, the No. 261 ranked prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking ran for 737 yards on 103 carries with 11 touchdowns. His skill set also showed up in the passing game, hauling in 37 catches for 368 yards and five additional scores.
