New On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine pick for Ole Miss

New On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine pick for Ole Miss

Ole Miss is starting to pick up some steam on the recruiting trail in the 2024 class. Lane Kiffin and Co. are beginning to prioritize certain prospects and are looking to add to its seven-man class. And now, after a busy spring and courtship, I expect Ole Miss to add a three-star recruit from Louisiana.

Destrehan (La.) safety Anthony Robinson has been a top target for new defensive coordinator Pete Golding and safeties coach Wes Neighbors for the better part of five months now. The 6-foot-2, 190 pound safety is starting to work his way through his personal journey and he could be close to a decision.

If this is the case, I expect Ole Miss to be in the proverbial catbird’s seat. And with this knowledge, I have entered an Ole Miss commitment prediction for Robinson with a 70 percent confidence level. On3 national analyst Sam Spiegelman was the first to enter a prediction for the Rebels, entering one in April with a 65 percent confidence level.

Ole Miss has made Anthony Robinson a priority and he’s taken notice.

Spiegelman recently caught up with the Pelican State product after Destrehan’s spring game.

“It’s a two-horse race for versatile, hard-hitting three-star safety Anthony Robinson, who is a top target in the secondary for Ole Miss and Notre Dame.

First-year Irish special teams coordinator Marty Biagi and safeties coach Chris O’Leary were both on hand at Robinson’s spring game this week. Notre Dame is set to host Robinson for a June 2-4 official and hasn’t taken its foot off the gas since offering earlier this spring.

Ole Miss’ Pete Golding and Wes Neighbors have been equally visible in Robinson’s recruitment and there is a sense the Rebels are trending as the team to beat. No team is recruiting Robinson harder than Ole Miss right now, and the top-50 safety may not be too far away from closing down his recruitment.”

Robinson checks in as the No. 479 overall prospect in the 2024 class. He is also the 46th-ranked safety in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. Golding recruited Robinson during his time in Tuscaloosa on Nick Saban’s staff. Now, he picks up where he left off. Sources say he wants the No. 11 Louisiana prospect to become Ole Miss’ eighth commit.

Anthony Robinson was a key cog for Destrehan’s 14-0 2022 state championship campaign.

Spiegelman loves Robinson’s game. He sees him as a “hybrid safety who can play down in the box”. The On3 analyst says he has “fantastic speed to the ball and is a sure open-field tackler”.

With the ever-evolving sport of college football, position versatility is a must. Robinson gives you this and then some. His frame is more than worthy of adding some poundage and he does not compromise his athletic ability. He ran the 100m in 11.53 and 11.63 this year and also posted a long jump of 21’1″.
