New On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine pick for Ole Miss

Ole Miss and head coach Lane Kiffin got things going in the 2024 class at the end of March. The Rebels are now in the Top 20 of On3’s 2024 Industry Ranking Football Team Recruiting Rankings after adding three commitments.
It may not be in the spring, but I now believe they will be adding yet another commitment from another four-star prospect at some point.
Carrollton (Ga.) four-star tight end Caleb Odom recently visited Oxford, Miss., for an unofficial visit. The 6-foot-6 recruit is being recruited by John David Baker, Dane Stevens and Kiffin. The weekend was such a hit with the nation’s 8th-ranked tight end I have entered an Ole Miss commitment prediction for Odom with a 65 percent confidence level.
Odom is the No. 125 overall prospect and No. 8 tight end in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average which utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 23 player in Georgia.
On3 rates Odom higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison.
Ross Is ranked as the No. 38 prospect in the country, the No. 3 tight end and No. 6 player in Georgia according to the 2024 On300. He had a monster junior year for the Trojans where he caught 64 passes for 1,112 yards and 11 touchdowns. Now he has turned his attention to recruiting.
Sources tell OMSpirit Ole Miss could be the runaway favorite right now after the weekend he spent with the staff. Furthermore, sources close to his recruitment believe the Rebels’ recruitment of Odom to play wide receiver is setting them apart from everyone else at this point.
“I’d say his top five in this order is Ole Miss, Colorado, Tennessee, Georgia and Penn State,” a national source told OMSpirit.

On3’s Chad Simmons had a chance to talk with Odom after he departed from Ole Miss to head home.
“Right when I got down there, I felt the vibes were crazy,” Odom told On3. “I got showered with love from all the other coaches. Watching the practice, being able to talk to coach (Derrick) Nix — the wide receivers coach — and coach (Lane) Kiffin a lot, it really showed me how they want to use me in their system.”
Odom went on to say how much of a big deal it is to him the Rebels are recruiting him specifically for wideout.
“They’re actually one of the few schools that want me to play wide receiver and so, that’s what I want to do, in my opinion, from what they told me.”
He then goes on to talk about the lineage at the position which runs through Oxford.
“I’ve seen their track record. They produce big wide receivers like D.K. Metcalf, A.J. Brown, Elijah Moore. Those are just some of the few. I was able to sit down with coach Nix and watch all the film from the years, look at stats, look at coach Kiffin’s track record with all the wide receivers when he’s been at USC, Alabama a little bit and now Ole Miss. That really opened my eyes.”

Ole Miss commit Demond Williams Jr. was also in Oxford during Odom’s visit.
The four-star quarterback from Basha (Ariz.) is putting in the work alongside the Ole Miss staff. Williams tells OMSpirit Odom is No. 1 on his board.
Since announcing his commitment, he has been steadily working on his game and preparing for a state championship defense at Basha High School. He most recently put his skill set on display at the OT7 Phoenix event last weekend. On3’s Sam Spiegelman got to see him in person and came away impressed.
“He delivered some great passes,” Spiegelman said. “He has a live arm and he was in tune with his receivers most of the weekend. Showed the ability to throw on the move as well.”
