New leader for 5-star WR Ryan Wingo, according to On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine

The recruitment of Saint Louis (Mo.) University five-star wide receiver Ryan Wingo remains up in the air as the 2024 high school football season nears its beginning. Multiple high-profile programs are in the running for the wideout.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), however, it’s an in-state school that’s leading the pack. Following a new pick logged on Sunday night by On3 recruiting insider Sam Speigelman, Missouri now has the lead for Wingo.

The Tigers now have a 38.4% chance to land the No. 24 overall prospect, No. 7 WR and No. 2 player from Missouri — per the On3 Industry Ranking — while the Texas Longhorns are now in second at 24.6%. Speigelman’s pick for Eliah Drinkwitz‘s team was placed with a 55% confidence level.

Wingo has been a frequent visitor in Columbia, having taken six visits to Mizzou’s campus, including an official visit on June 23, which has since been followed up by a return trip at the end of July. Texas and Michigan have also received official visits. The On3 RPM also gives Tennessee and Notre Dame chances in the Missourian’s recruitment, at 15.7% and 12.1%, respectively.

“Entering the summer, Tennessee looked to be the team to beat. The Vols are still very much in the mix, and the SEC program in Knoxville is expected to receive an official visit in the coming months, but Texas and Missouri are the schools now with the most chatter around them,” On3’s Chad Simmons wrote of Wingo in July.

Wingo currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $228K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Missouri vying for multiple 5-stars

Wingo isn’t the only five-star recruit that’s being pursued heavily by the Tigers. Lee’s Summit (Mo.) North Five-Star Plus+ defensive lineman Williams Nwaneri is set to announce his college decision on Aug. 14, and Mizzou has picked up some steam late in the lineman’s recruitment.

Following multiple predictions logged for the Tigers to land Nwaneri, Missouri now has a 67.8% chance to keep the No. 3 overall prospect in-state, per the On3 RPM. The 6-foot-6, 265-pounder is choosing between GeorgiaMissouriOklahomaOregon and Tennessee. Georgia is now a distant second, sitting at 14.9%.

The Tigers’ class consists of 11 commits and only two four-stars: Jonesboro (Ark.) Valley View linebacker Brian Huff and Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas wide receiver James Madison II. The class overall is No. 57 in the nation and No. 16 in the SEC, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Ranking.
