Nebraska to host 2024 QB Kamari McClellan in June
The Huskers are set to host 2024 quarterback Kamari McClellan from Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville in June. McClellan was being recruited by South Carolina when coach Marcus Satterfield was there. The two have reconnected with coach Satterfield now at Nebraska.
“I am visiting Nebraska on June 4th,” McClellan said. “It’s an official visit. I have been talking with coach Satterfield now that he’s at Nebraska.”
McClellan said he was being recruited very seriously by South Carolina and coach Satterfield before Satterfield left for Lincoln. He’s interested to see what this attention will bring.
“We are re-starting the relationship. Before when he was at South Carolina he was recruiting me and we had a good relationship.”
Nebraska has only had its sights on a couple of 2024 quarterbacks this cycle. Daniel Kaelin from Omaha (Neb.) Bellevue West committed to Missouri earlier in the spring, and Dylan Raiola from Phoenix (Ariz.) Pinnacle.
Raiola is the No. 1 rated quarterback in the country and visited Nebraska twice this spring and six times overall. The competition has been fierce for Raiola, with Nebraska competing with Georgia, USC, Oregon, and others for the one-time Ohio State commitment.
McClellan is the first known visitor for the first weekend in June. Nebraska will host Omaha (Neb.) Bellevue West wide receiver Isaiah McMorris and Palm Bay (Fla.) American Heritage defensive end Adam Kissayi the weekend of June 24th.
According to McClellan’s HUDL, he had 79 completions for 1,158 yards and 16 touchdowns in his junior year.
