Nebraska Recruiting: New offers and commit recap

We are a week removed from the spring game. The Nebraska staff extended a number of offers this week, secured an official visit for June, and landed a few commits. Here is your recap.

New commitments

Nebraska has added two commitments to the 2024 class this past week which makes four total commitments in the month of April. Nebraska addressed some needs in the class, but more importantly the commitments came from recruits who visited Nebraska in the spring. The Nebraska recruiting class seems to be gaining momentum heading into May.

Willis McGahee IV committed before the spring game last weekend. It was a little odd timed, but McGahee was in Lincoln on Friday and his whole family was with him. The first visit to Nebraska was just with his father. The second visit was with father, mother, and his brother. The family was very happy with Nebraska and McGahee decided to commit on Saturday morning. On Saturday night, McGahee was hanging out with old high school teammates and new college teammates.

Ian Flynt wasn’t at the Nebraska spring game last weekend. He committed two days later after Nebraska turned up the communication with him over the past month following junior day. The Huskers and Bob Wager definitely zeroed in on Flynt to play the inline tight end position and were making that very clear to him. Flynt’s sister is a member of the Nebraska track and field team and his parents graduated from Nebraska.
