Nebraska Recruiting: New offer and visitor recap
We are a couple of weeks out of the junior day and a couple of weeks from the spring game. This week, there has been some activity with new offers, visitors, and in-state targets visiting other schools. Here is your recap.
New offers from Nebraska
On April 1, 2025 TE DaSaahn Brame from Derby (Kans.), visited Nebraska and picked up an offer. Brame is emerging as the top player in Kansas for the 2025 class.
Nebraska offered speedy linebacker Chris Cole from Salem (Va.) on April 3. The 2024 linebacker has one of the best 60-meter hurdle times in the country this spring.
The Huskers made an offer to very fast wide receiver Jerry Hawkins, Jr. from Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy. Hawkins is a 10.44/100 and 21.4/200 weapon that says he runs a 4.25/40.
Jowhar Franklin picked up an offer from Nebraska on April 5. The standout defensive tackle from New Orleans (La.) John Curtis is a big, DT which is welcome news. The DT board has been very thin.
On April 6, Wyatt Gilmore took a visit to Nebraska and picked up an offer from the Huskers following the visit. There is an update pending on Gilmore, but the Nebraska staff sees Gilmore playing both inside and outside on the defensive line.
Preston Carey is a name that everyone gets to know. Carey might be the top defensive lineman in the 2026 class. The 6-5/290-pound DL from East Northport (N.Y.) St. Anthony’s picked up an offer from Nebraska following a visit on Thursday.
Also on Thursday, Nebraska also offered Troy Stevenson. The four-star cornerback from Charleston (S.C.) Phillip Simmons is the No. 280 player in the 2024 class and is the No. 23 cornerback in the nation.
