Nebraska is hosting Washington 7-footer transfer Braxton Meah on official visit

The most pressing offseason roster need Nebraska still must fill is another piece in the low post. The Huskers hope Washington transfer big man Braxton Meah can fit that bill.

HuskerOnline confirmed that the 7-foot-1, 250-pound graduate transfer made his way to Lincoln for an official visit on Sunday and Monday. It will be his first visit last week.

A native of Layton, Utah, Meah spent two seasons at Fresno State before joining the Huskies in 2022-23. He set career highs with 8.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game to earn Pac-12 All-Defense honors as a junior.

A lingering ankle and hand injury hindered him much this past season, but Meah played through the ailments and averaged 5.3 ppg and 5.3 rpg, leading UW with 27 blocked shots.

Most of his work offensively came at the rim, as he led the country in 3-point field goal percentage at 77%. He also ranked in the top 40 nationally with a career-high 25.7% defensive rebounding rate.

Head coach Fred Hoiberg and his staff have three available scholarships remaining for the 2024-25 season.
