Nebraska hosts top 2026 RB target DeZephen Walker for third time on Wednesday
Nebraska got a very valuable visit from 2026 running back DeZephen Walker on Wednesday. The four-star recruit from Raymore (Mo.) Raymore-Peculiar was in Lincoln for the third time since last fall. He got to see the Huskers go through a workout and take a better look at the facilities that have been under construction the last couple of times he visited.
“They had a workout today at Nebraska,” Walker said. “I liked watching them yesterday. The team moved well, and the practice was efficient. I got to watch them do some walk-throughs. It was fun.”
Walker wanted to get a better look at Nebraska’s facilities. They were under construction last fall and again in January when he visited Lincoln. He also wanted more face time with the Nebraska coaches.
“Getting to look at the facilities was important. The first time that I was there, they were still building them, and now it’s done. It looks nice! I also wanted to talk with the coaches and get to know them more.”
DeZephen Walker is looking forward to his visit to Nebraska
There was an opportunity to sit down with the head coach, position coach, and an area recruiting coach to talk about what Nebraska sees in Walker and what he could bring to their offense.
“I talked to coach Matt Rhule, EJ Barthel, and Jamar Mozee about the offense and how I fit in,” Walker said. “They like that I am an every-down, all-purpose running back. I can run and catch the football, and I have speed.”
Walker connected with a current player at Nebraska who he played with in high school. He was also able to talk to a few of the current running backs.
“We did get to hang out with some players. Jaidyn Doss was there and showed us around. We played together in high school. And I got to meet with a few of the running backs, which was cool.”
The Huskers will get a fourth visit from Walker next month. He says he plans to return to Lincoln to see the Huskers host Colorado.
“I am going to come back for the Nebraska-Colorado game, I know that for sure. We don’t really have any other visits scheduled. I know I want to get to a few more schools, but I don’t have anything scheduled.”
