Nebraska hosting 7-foot Washington St. transfer Adrame Diongue on official visit

With two open scholarships still remaining for the 2023-24 season, Nebraska continues to put in work on the recruiting trail this summer.
After a relatively quiet couple of weeks, HuskerOnline has confirmed a notable development on that front.
Washington State center transfer Adrame Diongue arrived in Lincoln on Tuesday for an official visit. The 7-foot, 190-pound sophomore is a former 4-star and top-100 recruit from Dakar, Senegal.
Diongue was initially scheduled to visit NU last week but had to reschedule at the last minute. He has taken other officials to San Jose State (and former Husker head coach Tim Miles) and New Mexico State.
Diongue appeared in 23 games as a true freshman last season, averaging 1.3 points and 1.8 rebounds in 6.3 minutes per contest for the Cougars.
Despite his minimal production, Diongue’s potential is through the roof. He finished as the No. 75 overall player and No. 10 center in the 2022 class. He’s also only been playing organized basketball for four years.
After breaking onto the American basketball scene at Arizona Compass Prep, Diongue became the second-highest-rated signee in WSU history. He turned down offers from Kansas, Illinois, Texas, Maryland, Texas Tech, Washington, and more.
“I run the floor well, grab rebounds and block everything,” Diongue told On3’s Jamie Shaw last year. “I’m reading the game better now and showing more on offense. I watch Kevin Garnett, the way he tries to dunk the ball every time he touches it. I’m trying to do that…
“I grew up playing soccer. Soccer helped me with being able to get up and down the floor and with my quickness and defense.”
Scouting Report
“There is something about a player who continues to improve each time they step on the floor. Adrame Diongue is like a blank canvas right now, and all the tools are available. Diongue has good size and length; he is extremely mobile with excellent timing. The 7-footer has touch from the free-throw line and is developing a face-up game. He will need to continue getting stronger and working on his offensive repertoire, but the strides he continues to make in only three years are very promising with a big upside.”
