Nebraska guard Gavin Griffiths enters the NCAA Transfer Portal
The first domino of offseason roster attrition fell for Nebraska basketball as Gavin Griffiths entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal.
The 6-foot-7 sophomore appeared in just 16 games and averaged 2.1 points and 1.6 rebounds over 8.4 minutes per contest.
It was a disappointing lone campaign as a Husker for the former Rutgers transfer. Once regarded as a four-star top-50 recruit out of high school, Griffiths came to Lincoln with high expectations.
However, the Simsbury, Connecticut, native only saw the floor in seven of NU’s final 18 Big Ten Conference games. His most notable performance came when he scored a season-high eight points and went 2-for-2 from 3-point range in a 77-43 win over Southern on Dec. 7.
He did not play during Nebraska’s championship run at the College Basketball Crown with a reported ankle injury.
