NC State football recruiting class of 2024 updated hot board: Corners
NC State football recruiting has one of its best defensive backs class in 2023. The Wolfpack is hoping to repeat that success this cycle.
Here is a rundown of known offers thus far out towards corners and nickels on the NC State football recruiting board in the 2024 class.
On3 Industry three-star Jivan Baly
Norcross (Ga.) Meadowcreek
On3 Industry ranking: No. 83 cornerback in country and No. 100 player in Georgia
On3 NIL Valuation: $16K
High School NIL ranking: 1,906
On3 RPM: NC State – 95.7%; Georgia Tech – 1.2%
The skinny: Jivan Baly released in March a top eight of Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, Missouri, NC State and Texas A&M. He has also set up an official visit for NC State on June 23, which will be his fourth trip to Raleigh. His most recent visit was in April for a spring practice.
Baly (6-foot, 170 pounds) has over 20 Power Five offers after making 36 tackles (3 for loss) and 2 interceptions in 11 games as a junior.

On3 Industry ranking: No. 170 recruit nationally, No. 19 cornerback in country and No. 27 player in Georgia
On3 NIL Valuation: $79K
High School NIL ranking: 270
On3 RPM: Kentucky – 49.1%; Central Florida – 9.3%; Florida – 7.9%; Miami – 6.6%
The skinny: NC State gave Cai Bates an offer in February, but the 6-foot-1.5, 177-pounder is a national recruitment and thus far has shown limited interest in the Wolfpack.

On3 Industry ranking: No. 62 cornerback in country and No. 12 player in Virginia
On3 NIL Valuation: $29K
High School NIL ranking: 860
On3 RPM: Committed to NC State
The skinny: Asaad Brown II (6-foot, 175 pounds) joined the NC State football recruiting class in March. Brown had two dozen Power Five scholarships. He finished his junior year with 64 tackles and a pair of interceptions, one of which was a pick six.
NC State recruited Brown as a nickel.
On3 Industry four-star Ondre Evans
Nashville (Tenn.) CPA
On3 Industry ranking: No. 41 cornerback in country and No. 9 player in Tennessee
On3 NIL Valuation: $43K
High School NIL ranking: 576
On3 RPM: NC State – 95.0%; Louisville – 1.3%; Ole Miss – 1.1%
The skinny: Ondre Evans did a two-day visit in March that represented his third trip to Raleigh since last June, when he first emerged on the NC State football recruiting board with an offer from the Wolfpack. He has over a dozen Power Five offers to also consider.
The 6-foot, 170-pounder is expected to take an unofficial visit to Michigan, who has stepped up its interest recently.

On3 Industry Recruiting ranking: No. 273 recruit nationally, No. 23 cornerback in country and No. 40 player in Florida

High School NIL ranking: 538
On3 RPM: Alabama – 24.5%; Penn State – 21.4%; Michigan – 13.9%
The skinny: Jameer Grimsley (6-foot-2, 185 pounds) added an offer from NC State in March, but the Wolfpack is part of a large group of growing offers for Grimsley. He did take a visit to Raleigh on March 31, but Grimsley’s official visit plans highlight where his recruitment is likely headed.
Grimsley will visit Penn State (June 9), Alabama (June 16) and Michigan (June 23) next month.

On3 Industry Recruiting ranking: No. 288 recruit nationally, No. 12 athlete in country and No. 17 player in Alabama

High School NIL ranking: 485
On3 RPM: Mississippi State – 9.1%; Florida State – 7.6%
The skinny: Schools like the 5-foot-11, 175-pound Ronnie Royal III on both sides of the football. Over the past two seasons, he has rushed for 2,497 yards and 43 touchdowns and caught 68 passes for 952 yards and 8 scores. Defensively, he had 40 tackles and 2 picks in 13 games last year.
NC State offered Royal in January and appears to be recruiting him for defense.

On3 Industry ranking: No. 71 cornerback in country and No. 119 player in Texas

On3 RPM: Oklahoma – 85.2%; Indiana – 2.4%; Cincinnati – 2.1%
The skinny: NC State offered Dedaunte Scott in early March, but he has been a frequent visitor to Oklahoma, including twice in April.
The 6-foot-1, 165-pounder had 19 tackles, 2 interceptions and 4 passes defended in 9 games as a junior.
On3 Industry four-star Santana Wilson
Scottsdale (Ariz.) Desert Mountain
On3 Industry Recruiting ranking: No. 275 recruit nationally, No. 25 cornerback in country and No. 6 player in Arizona

High School NIL ranking: 357
On3 RPM: Arizona State – 27.8%; Oregon – 24.4%; NC State – 20.9%
The skinny: Santana Wilson is a NC State football legacy. He is the son of former NC State star and long-time NFL standout Adrian Wilson. Adrian Wilson also recently accepted a job with the Carolina Panthers, although Santana Wilson will stay behind in Arizona for his senior year.
Wilson made a visit to NC State on April 7, and he included the Pack in a top four in March.
In 12 games as a junior, Wilson had 49 tackles, 4 interceptions and 12 pass breakups.
