NC State CB Aydan White named preseason All-ACC
NC State cornerback Aydan White landed on the preseason All-ACC first team Wednesday. Following a first-team all-conference performance in 2022, the media expects him to replicate that success.
He led all ACC cornerbacks in interceptions last year with 4, thriving on an island as NC State’s left cornerback. White received the second-most votes amongst cornerbacks with 85, trailing Florida State star Fentrell Cypress II by 3.
No other Wolfpack athletes made the list.

A total of 176 media members cast their votes for the team, so nearly half selected White as one of the conference’s top cornerbacks.
White has lofty expectations for the defense this fall, especially the Wolfpack secondary.
“I expect our defense to be No. 1 in passing defense throughout the whole league,” he said. “We just have a lot of depth coming back and a lot of experience.”
The junior cornerback recorded 46 total tackles in 2022, including 4 for loss and 1 sack. He also defended 13 passes. Per PFF, White played the most coverage snaps in the country without allowing a touchdown.
Last year, quarterback Devin Leary, center Grant Gibson, linebackers Drake Thomas and Payton Wilson and safety Tanner Ingle all made the preseason All-ACC squad. Wilson is the only member of that group back for this season.
NC State started fall camp Tuesday and hosted its first practice Wednesday. The Pack kicks off the season Aug. 31 on the road against UConn.
