Myles Davis talks Texas official visit, commitment date

2024 Converse (Texas) Judson safety and On3 four-star Myles Davis took an official visit to Texas over the weekend. After a fantastic trip, Davis is ready to announce his decision.
The 6-foot-0.5, 190-pounder holds offers from Texas, USC, TCU, and Texas A&M. But this trip to Austin opened his eyes.
What really stood out about the visit and where he fits in the Texas defense?
“The development part from coach (Blake) Gideon,” said Davis. “He knows what he’s doing and what players he wants. At the boundary safety is where I would be, and he loves my game and feels I’ll be around the ball more to make plays.”
He was hosted by Austin Jordan and Derek Williams. What was his biggest takeaway?
“I definitely got a lot of room to grow at the defensive back position,” Davis explained. “Coach Sark really saw the amount of growth I can make and potential I have with me having one season of DB under my belt. Being where I’m at now is very interesting to see, so now it’s all about who can best help me display my skills and fit.”
What’s Davis’ decision timeline?
“August 25th,” Davis told Inside Texas. “I’ll silent pretty soon though.”
What type of player will Davis bring to a future college program?
“For me personally, I know all the coaches have all mentioned one thing about me is my character,” said Davis. “And with that is my leadership skills. One of the things I’ve come to figure out is (schools) have me high on their list because of my leadership abilities and drive to get better.”
He’ll take an official visit to Texas A&M on June 23-25, then a potential official trip to Alabama.
Davis is the No. 286 overall prospect, the No. 25 safety in the 2024 cycle, and the No. 52 prospect in Texas, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major media companies.
