Montavin Quisenberry Updates Recruitment After Dominant Performance: ‘He’s a Special Player’
In the bright lights of Friday night high school football at Boyle County, 2025 wide receiver Montavin Quisenberry put on a show.
The 2025 in-state athlete from No. 1-ranked Boyle County (Danville, KY) went four total touchdowns in a 56-21 win over Lexington Catholic.
Quisenberry’s highlight plays included a 70-yard touchdown reception, a 95-yard kickoff return touchdown, and two touchdown runs (25 and 33 yards respectively).
“He’s a special player,” Boyle County head coach Justin Haddix said. “We’ve got a lot of good players. I’m proud of him.”
Despite standing at just 5-foot-9, 160-pounds, Quisenberry was able to make his mark all across the field.
“I just look to put my fingerprints all over the game whether it’s offense, defense or kickoff return,” Quisenberry told KSR+ after the game. “Whatever I have to do to get my team points or whatever they need at the time.”
After falling behind 21-14 in the third quarter, Quisenberry’s 95-yard kickoff return was the beginning of 42 unanswered points from Boyle County.
“The coach said that they weren’t worried about kicking it to us,” Quisenberry said. “They kicked it to me. I waited for that seam, it opened up perfectly, and I got that touchdown.”
Kentucky Making a Push
Kentucky continues to make a push for Montavin Quisenberry after he received an offer back in October.
Kentucky’s associate head coach Vince Marrow is leading the charge.
“They’ve been on me,” Quisenberry said. “Coach Marrow has been talking to me. We have a good relationship. Everything is going well there.”
With his dual-threat capabilities, Quisenberry said the Kentucky staff envisions him playing special teams, slot receiver duties, and a little bit of outside receiver work.
“And a little bit of defense too,” he said.
What’s Next for Montavin Quisenberry?
Just hours after his excellent performance on Friday night, Montavin Quisenberry travels to Ann Arbor for Michigan’s matchup with Rutgers in Ann Arbor.
“[I’m looking at] just the environment, seeing the vibes there, and just seeing how that goes,” Quisenberry said.
Quisenberry also said he’s planning to visit Virginia Tech next week. He plans to set Kentucky and “down the road.”
“It’s been very good,” he said. “College coaches are talking to me, asking me to get to games, and being able to see me.”
As he navigates this process, Quisenberry said he’s looking for one thing in particular.
“Just whatever the best fit is,” he said. “Use me to my best ability.”
