Mike Norvell reveals Florida State’s plan vs. Virginia Tech without Johnny Wilson

The Florida State Seminoles have been in a back-and-forth battle with the Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday night. The Seminoles currently lead 32-17, but the Hokies have found ways to make things uncomfortable for them at times. At the start of the fourth quarter, ESPN’s Quint Kessenich caught up with FSU head coach Mike Norvell to discuss his team’s plan moving forward without Johnny Wilson, one of their star receivers that exited the game in the third quarter.

He brought his team around in a huddle at the start of the fourth quarter. What did he emphasize to his players? “Well, I was just talking about our finish. We were doing a really good job there in the third quarter offensively and defensively. Obviously gave up the kickoff for a touchdown. But I thought our guys responded well. Gotta keep playing fast and physical. Go finish here in the fourth quarter,” Norvell said.

What can make the difference offensively without Johnny Wilson in? “Just continue to go out there and make plays and I think we’ve done a good job of that. Obviously, we’ve got a lot of other guys that continue to step up. We’ve just got to go do it,” Novell said on Saturday night.
