Viktor Hovland will soon find out whether getting hit by bird poop means good luck on the golf course.

The Norwegian star was preparing to hit a shot from the fairway during his opening round of the British Open (otherwise known as The Open). But he took a step back and told his caddie “I just got shat on.”

We’re not sure of the golfing protocol for this sort of natural accident. But surely this happens more than we think, since it’s all outdoors. The best golfers in the world currently are gathered at Royal Liverpool Golf Course for The Open, the final grand slam on the schedule.
