Michigan State’s EverGreen named ‘Best Institutional Program’ at NIL Summit
Michigan State’s name, image and likeness (NIL) program, EverGreen, received the highest honors during Saturday’s NIL Summit hosted by INFLCR (pronounced “influencer”). It was named the Best Institutional Program during the award ceremony.
“This award recognizes an institution that has shown exceptional commitment to supporting its student-athletes in maximizing their NIL opportunities through a combo of education, resources and industry-leading innovation,” INFLCR said on Saturday via Twitter.
EverGreen was launched in June 2021 to help Michigan State’s student-athletes capitalize on their NIL opportunities. The program is centered around four pillars – brand, empower, educate and innovate.
“Our goal is to provide our student-athletes the tools for success on the field of competition, inside the classroom and beyond MSU,” former Michigan State Vice President and Director of Athletics Bill Beekman said upon its release. “Name, image and likeness legislation will offer new opportunities for our student-athletes and EverGreen will prepare and position them for these changes.”
INFLCR is a management app for student-athletes. In conjunction with Teamworks, INCFLR’s parent brand, the app was created to aid student-athletes with their NIL ventures. The platform provides access to brand management tools, analytics and educational resources.
Michigan State football’s director of player relations and program advancement Darien Harris, deputy athletic directors Ashton Henderson and Epiphany Clark and head football coach Mel Tucker were among those who took to social media to show their appreciation for the award.
Ed Tillett, Director of Multicultural Business Programs for Michigan State University’s Broad College of Business, also released a statement on Twitter. Tillett acknowledged that Michigan State earned the award thanks to the behind-the-scenes work and collaborative efforts of multiple departments within the university.
“Excited that MSU is bringing this home, and that our unit Multicultural Business Programs MSU Broad College could be a part of the effort supporting NIL at MSU,” Tillett posted. “Thank you (Ashton Henderson) for your leadership and (Lauren Aitch) for your leadership with Business Teams in (Multicultural Business Programs).
