Michigan State offers in-state 2025 DB Cashus Shivers

Michigan State welcomed a group of 2025 prospects from Detroit (MI) Cass Tech High School on April 8, including defensive back Cashus Shivers, who the Spartans offered during the trip.
“(The visit) was wonderful and I had an amazing face to face talk with Coach Mel Tucker,” Shivers told SpartanMag.com. “It meant a lot to me coming from a top notch coach so I tried to take in as much as possible hearing from him.”
Shivers was offered by the head coach during a face to face sit down. The conversation really stood out to the in-state defensive back.
“He was mostly emphasizing how things work at Michigan State,” Shivers said. The standards they hold their players to, he explained how msu would be a great fit for me. (Tucker) told me how heavily recruited I am there and gave me advice just about staying focused and who to have around in my circle.”
“It means a lot from a defensive guy like Coach Tuck,” Shivers said. “Specifically with all the schools he coached defensive back at, I feel good that he sees good in me as a DB myself.”
Shivers and the other recruits made their way to practice, as the 6-foot, 180-pound defensive back kept his eyes on the defensive back group.
“As far as practice, I loved the intensity of the DBs, how they were flying around all practice,” Shivers said. “Another thing was that once practice was done Coach introduced me to the DBs and they all just surrounded me and showed love. I really felt apart of the team and felt like I fit right in with them.”
Michigan State joins Pittsburgh, Kentucky, Missouri, Marshall, and Iowa in offering Shivers so far. He is not yet ranked by the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. He has taken other visits to Tennessee, Marshall, West Virginia, Purdue, Toledo, and Northwestern so far this spring.
