Michigan State offers 2024 linebacker Kemori Dixon

Michigan State offers 2024 linebacker Kemori Dixon

Michigan State offered class of 2024 linebacker, Kemori Dixon, of Danville (VA) George Washington on June 26. Dixon was offered by Newly hired defensive assistant Chris Gordon. Michigan State defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Scottie Hazelton had been monitoring Dixon for a couple weeks.

“My coach and Michigan State were in contact a lot,” Dixon. “Then I talked to Coach Gordan. He is a great guy. Coach broke a lot of things down to me and he was very understanding of my end of things.”

“He was saying they’ve been watching me for a minute and really like me,” Dixon said. “I think I could come in and make something out of myself at linebacker.”

Gordon made a strong first impression on the 2024 linebacker, pointing to the depth chart as catching his eye.

“I mean Michigan State is a great program overall you really can’t beat it,” Dixon said. “They have taken a small amount of LBs within the last couple years so the depth chart is kind of open.”

Dixon has been committed to Boston College since June 8. Louisville, Penn State, Syracuse, and others have also offered.

“(It has gotten) kind of normal to me,” Dixon said. “I don’t look at it in a certain way. It’s just part of the recruiting process.”

As for what Michigan State sees in his game, Dixon credits his style of play and aggressive nature.

“I’m just a dog who’s eager to win,” Dixon said of his game. “Going out there and balling out, shooting for all-state and beyond that.”

Dixon is ranked a three-star, the No. 1428 overall recruit, the No. 118 safety, and the No. 38 recruit in Virginia by the 2024 On3 Industry Rankings.

Jason’s take:

Michigan State will look to bring in multiple linebackers in the class of 2024, after signing just one in 2023 including four-star Jordan Hall of IMG Academy in Bradenton (FL). The Spartans also took just one  linebacker in the class of 2022, landing Quavian Carter who has yet to see the field after battling injuries.

The Spartans made a strong move with California four-star duo Kamar Mothudi and Dylan Williams. Both California four-stars are expected to have a final decision shortly, with Oregon and Michigan State standing out. The pair are not a package deal, but could very likely end up at the same school with a similar group of finalist.
