Michigan in the mix to receive an official for On300 WR Derek Meadows following spring game visit

Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman On300 receiver Derek Meadows visited Michigan this past weekend for the Wolverines spring game and the Maize and Blue have put themselves in position to land an official visit down the road.

“The experience in Ann Arbor was great,” Meadows said. “I had a great time with my family and the coaches. I felt very welcomed there and it was a whole lot of fun.”

The 6-foot-5, 185-pound Meadows was joined by his family.

“Michigan was a positive visit,” Meadows father Deshawn said. “Got the opportunity to see the ring ceremony for Michigan winning the National Championship. That was awesome.”

The Meadows camp kept a close eye on the receiver rotation during the game.

“We clearly saw there was a need at wide receiver,” the elder Meadows said.

Tabbed by the On3 Industry as the nation’s No. 7 receiver and No. 51 prospect overall, Meadows is viewed as a major need by several programs. He has upcoming official visits set for South Carolina the weekend of May 31, Georgia the weekend of June 7, Notre Dame on June 14 and then Alabama the weekend of June 21.

“Bama was very smart picking that final weekend,” the elder Meadows said.

Michigan is one of a few schools in the mix for another official.

“Trying to figure out Michigan, LSU and Tennessee for the final spots, Deshawn said.
