Michigan 4-star DL commit Nate Marshall taking official visit to Auburn this weekend

Four-star defensive lineman Nate Marshall, who is ranked the No. 4 defensive lineman in the country, is taking an official visit to Auburn this weekend, Auburn Live has learned.

Marshall, who is from Fenwick High School in Oak Park, Ill., is scheduled to arrive in Auburn on Friday and stay until Sunday. It will be his second visit to Auburn this year and third overall.

He previously visited in April and also last fall for the Ole Miss game.

“I really just wanted to get back on campus,” Marshall said after the visit in April. “I liked the feel of it from the first time I came down for the Ole Miss game. Love the atmosphere, love the energy, love Coach Trell (Vontrell King-Williams).

“I got to see more than I did last time and learn way more than I did last time for sure. Got to actually sit and have a day with Coach Trell, Coach (Hugh) Freeze. Got to actually have a conversation with Coach Freeze, so that was nice.”

Marshall committed to Michigan on April 22, but Auburn and others have continued to recruit. He will be in Auburn this weekend and is scheduled to take an official visit to Alabama next weekend (June 14-16).

He is listed at 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds. The On3 Industry Ranking, which is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, ranks him the No. 45 overall recruit in the country and No. 2 in Illinois.

Auburn expects 8 recruits on campus this weekend for official visits

Marshall is the eighth recruit scheduled to be on the Plains this weekend for official visits and second defensive lineman. Four-star Antonio Coleman, who is committed to Alabama, also will be on campus for an official visit.

Other recruits planning to visit Auburn this weekend include four-star wide receivers Derick Smith and Travis Smith, four-star linebackers Tyler Lockhart (Auburn commitment) and Christian Jones, four-star offensive tackle Tavaris Dice (Auburn commitment) and three-star offensive lineman Jacobe Ward.

Auburn currently has 12 commitments, a group ranked No. 10 in the country, per the On3 Team Rankings.
