Miami offers 6-foot-7 offensive lineman after impressive showing during prospect camp

It has been a busy spring for Bellevue (Wash.) offensive lineman Demetri Manning, who has seen his stock rise rapidly after earning a handful of Power Five offers, with the latest coming from the Miami Hurricanes

During Miami’s June 15 prospect camp, the 6-foot-7, 340-pounder caught the attention of Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal and offensive line coach Alex Mirabal early, and after impressing the two throughout the day, he was quickly offered by Miami following the conclusion of the camp.

“I felt really excited because it felt really good when I got the offer,” Manning told CaneSport. “Coach Cristobal told me to just keep working and don’t stop just because I’ve got a few offers now. He really liked how I was coachable and everything.”

Since the beginning of June, the 2025 prospect has received offers from Hawaii, California, Washington, Oregon, Florida, Florida State, and Miami, with no signs of the incoming offers slowing down anytime soon.

“It’s been good, but it started slow,” Manning said of his recruitment. “I’ve been putting in the work, and it’s been going up and up.”

Thus far, Manning says Oregon, Washington, and Miami are among his top schools that have offered him thus far.

“I look to see if I fit in with a program and if I belong there,” Manning said. “The main thing is if I can fit in there; if I can’t, then I can’t see myself going there.”

Despite just recently picking up the offer from Miami, Manning’s interest in the Hurricanes is high after working with Mirabal during last week’s camp.

“A lot of stuff stood out about coach Mirabal,” Manning said. “He makes sure that everything is perfect. If you mess up on something, he’ll make you go back and do it. Just the way they teach their offensive linemen and everything impresses me. They have really nice skills at teaching their o-line.”

Moving forward, Manning says he is looking forward to building his relationship with Cristobal, Mirabal, and the entire Hurricanes staff.

“Now I just want to get to know them more and build a better relationship,” Manning said. “It was a wonderful campus, and they have a nice facility.”

CaneSport’s take

During the Hurricanes camp, it was easy to identify Manning as the top offensive line prospect in the building, which earned him the offer. The rising sophomore moved extremely well for his size while dominating in the one-on-one drills. Although he is unranked in his class thus far, we expect Manning to be a prospect to keep an eye on in the 2025 class.
