Miami Norland standout has Miami in top group, took fifth campus visit for recent Cristobal camp: Canes “all about family”
Miami Norland 2025 standout athlete Jade Card‘s already visited UM a handful of times, most recently for the June 8 Mario Cristobal camp. He lists the Canes among his 10 early offers, and that list also includes the likes of Florida State and Pittsburgh.
With a handful of trips to campus, Card says his biggest takeaway about Miami is that “It’s all about family.”
“They show support,” he says.
Card says Mario Cristobal and Kevin Beard are his main recruiters.
“Coach Cristobal, he makes it feel like home, says it’s education first, that’s what we always talk about,” Card said. “Coach Beard, he told me to pick what school is best for me.”
Card says he’s waiting until next school year to announce his favorites, and Miami’s put itself in a good early spot with him.
“Miami’s already in my top group,” Card said. “It’s a 70, 80 percent chance Miami will be in my final group because I’m from here.”
CaneSport’s take
Card has already visited Florida State, and he has upcoming visits planned to Pittsburgh, Toledo and UMass. A caveat for him is simply seeing progress from the team off a 5-win season. If the Canes can win more games this year that will help with Card and numerous other prospects that want to help the hometown be “back,” as it were. So what does Card see ahead for Miami? “I see them growing every year,” Card said. “They are just trying to bring people in, build a better team and better program.”
