Miami impressing top-100 South Florida running back: “Miami is definitely on my mind”

Since earning an offer from the Miami Hurricanes in July, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage four-star running back Deandre Desinor has continued to forge a strong relationship with Canes coaches as his recruitment is beginning to take shape.
With Hurricanes running back coach Tim Harris and offensive analyst Benedick Hyppolite leading the way for his recruitment, Miami is looking to position itself as a real contender to land the No. 77 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
“I hear from Miami every day, if not then every other day,” Desinor told CaneSport. “They text me throughout the week, and I have a good connection with coach Hyppolite and coach Tim (Harris).”
Through three games this season, Desinor says he loves what he is seeing from the 3-0 Hurricanes, and lists Miami as one of his top schools.
“That would definitely be a school I would want to go to,” Desinor said. “When I took my visit, my mom already felt like Miami was my home. Coach Hyppolite and my mom went to school together. It just felt like family, and we were all comfortable there. Miami is definitely on my mind.”
While Desinor likes what he sees from the Hurricanes, Miami is also liking what they see from the junior prospect who rushed for 1,248 yards and 16 touchdowns as a sophomore at North Broward Prep before transferring to American Heritage this year.
“They really like my speed,” Desinor said. “I’m a versatile back, and I’m able to run inside, outside, or catch the ball out of the backfield. I really just want to make a name for myself. I was at North Broward my last year, so now I’m here ready to handle business and make a name for myself.”
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Miami currently has the highest odds to land the 5-foot-9, 170-pound back, as the Canes lead all schools with a 51.5% probability of landing the talented tailback.
Desinor says programs such as Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Texas, Oregon, West Virginia, and Miami have been showing him the most love since coaches around the country began reaching out to 2025 prospects on Aug. 1.
“Who really shows me the most love and where I feel like is the best place for me,” Desinor said when asked what he’ll be considering the most when deciding where he wants to commit. “My recruitment is going really well, and since Aug. 1 a lot of coaches have been hitting me up.”
CaneSport’s take
Miami head coach Mario Cristobal had the chance to watch Desinor live last Friday, and the No. 6 running back in the 2025 class did not disappoint. Despite falling to Chaminade-Madonna, Desinor had himself a solid night, which he capped off with a touchdown run in the fourth quarter with Cristobal watching.
