Miami Hurricanes offer elite 2026 WR Naeem Burroughs: ‘It was crazy getting that offer from Miami’
Jacksonville (Fla.) The Bolles School wide receiver Naeem Burroughs is one of the latest 2026 prospects to earn an offer from the Miami Hurricanes, a program he and his father watched throughout his upbringing in Duval County.
“It was crazy getting that offer from Miami because growing up, I saw a lot of greats coming from that school,” Burroughs told CaneSport. “My dad also loves the school, and just knowing that they’re not too far from home and that it’s a great school just made it all a great experience getting a Miami offer.”
At 6-foot and 165 pounds, Burroughs, who earned MaxPreps Freshman All-American honors in 2022, holds other offers from Penn State, Georgia, Florida State, Pitt, UCF, Florida, Missouri, Wisconsin, Maryland, Cincinnati, Vanderbilt, and Michigan.
With Miami now in the mix, Burroughs is looking forward to building a strong relationship with the Hurricanes coaching staff and likes the direction the program is heading under ‘Canes head coach Mario Cristobal.
“It looks great, and coach Cristobal is rebuilding,” Burroughs said. “He’s getting the team back where it used to be, at the top of the nation, and stuff like that.”
When asked what makes Miami a program that Burroughs says he has a high interest in, his answer was quite simple.
“It’s just Miami,” Burroughs said. “Miami as a place and Miami as a whole.”
While Burroughs had a great freshman campaign, hauling in 36 receptions for 659 yards and seven touchdowns, he still believes there is much room to improve, and he wants to continue to work to become the best version of himself on and off the field moving forward.
“I had a good freshman year, but it was more about what I could do to help my team get better,” Burroughs said. “I have three more years of high school left, so I’m not going to say I’m the best in the country or the best in the nation because I still have stuff to do to become a better player and a better person.”
CaneSport’s take
Although the 2026 class does not yet have any stars or rankings, you could almost assure Burroughs will be among not only the highest-rated receivers but also the best prospects in his class. The freshman who led his Bolles squad in every major receiving statistic and helped them reach the 2M state playoffs in 2022 is expected to be an important part of the Bulldogs’ success in the future.
