Miami Hurricanes offer 4-star South Florida standout WR following recent visit: ‘I feel like I’m home’

Miami Hurricanes offer 4-star South Florida standout WR following recent visit: ‘I feel like I’m home’

The Miami Hurricanes became one of the latest Power Five programs to offer fast-rising 2025 Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna wide receiver Kamare Williams, with a scholarship offer April 20. The four-star prospect, who has offers from the likes of Florida, Florida State, Texas A&M, and Miami, recently visited campus after earning the offer and says he feels at home in Coral Gables.

“The Miami visit was a great time,” Williams told CaneSport. “Getting that offer from Miami made me really excited.”

Williams, who is the No. 238 overall prospect and No. 38 wide receiver in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, ‘feels great’ to be recognized as one of the top prospects in his class following a breakout sophomore campaign.

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound wideout, who previously played at Atlantic High School in Delray Beach, hauled in 59 receptions for 935 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns for the Eagles last year.

Following the conclusion of his sophomore season, Williams has since transferred to Broward County powerhouse Chaminade-Madonna, joining the likes of five-star wideout Jeremiah Smith and four-star athlete Joshisa Trader, who are both major priorities for Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes in the 2024 class.

Thus far on the Miami staff, Williams has built a strong relationship with Miami recruiting staff member Mike Rumph, who is also a Palm Beach County native and someone he has known for some time.

“We’re both from the same place, so he really doesn’t have to tell me too much,” Williams said. “We’ve been through the same things.”

Along with Rumph, Williams is looking forward to building relationships with multiple Hurricane staff members moving forward, including head coach Mario Cristobal and wide receivers coach Kevin Beard.

“They are all really good people,” Williams added.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Miami is the current favorite to land Williams’ commitment with a 28.3% probability, slightly edging out in-state rivals Florida (24.8%) and Florida State (21.2%).

“The campus stood out to me and how they do everything with their program,” Williams said of Miami. “I feel like I’m home.”

CaneSport’s take

With a move to Chaminade-Madonna, you can only expect Williams’ stock to rise as he will be playing a national schedule against some of the top high school teams across the country. Seeing the Hurricanes jump into the mix early and not hesitating to offer one of South Florida’s future stars in the making is a great sign and should bode well for the Hurricanes down the road regarding his recruitment.
