Miami continuing to pursue 4-star IOL Eddy Pierre-Louis: “I talk with them everyday”

Miami continuing to pursue 4-star IOL Eddy Pierre-Louis: “I talk with them everyday”

Since last visiting Coral Gables in the spring, Miami Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal and his staff have continued to heavily pursue Tampa (Fla.) Catholic 2024 four-star offensive lineman Eddy Pierre-Louis, making the Florida native feel like a priority target.

“I talk with them every day, and we’ve been building a good connection,” Pierre-Louis told CaneSport. “Me and the coaches have been building a big connection, and we’ve been taking it real slow. They haven’t been forcing anything on me; they’ve just been letting me enjoy the process.”

The No. 244 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, is a big fan of the Hurricanes staff and loves the hospitality they have shown him on each of his visits to Miami.

“Just the way they treat people over there to me stands out, they treat people like family,” Pierre-Louis said. “They’ve been telling me they need interior offensive linemen, and it’s going to be a good chance for me to play early.”

Along with Miami, Oregon, Alabama, Tennessee, Oklahoma, UCF, Florida, and Georgia are among the 6-foot-3, 335-pounder top schools, and he went in-depth on what he’ll be looking for the most in a potential program.

“School is really important for me and getting my degree,” Pierre-Louis said. “Also, life after football and how the coaches will take care of you after football is done. Development is key as well for me.”

Along with academics and development, the atmosphere surrounding his potential school will play a big role in Pierre-Louis’ final decision.

“The culture and the city itself,” he added. “If I’m going to be there for 3–4 years and want to see how it is and see if I could live there for that long.”

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Florida is the current favorite right now to land Pierre-Louis with a 36.9% probability, followed by UCF (20.3%), Florida State (7.2%), and Miami, which sits just outside the top three with a 6% probability.

With Miami looking to establish itself as a true threat to land Pierre-Louis, who has an On3 NIL Valuation of $56,000, seeing how Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal and his staff can develop their 2023 class could benefit their chances tremendously.

“I want to see their development this year,” Pierre-Louis said. “Now that they have their own recruiting class, I want to see how they do things with the offensive line and develop them.”

CaneSport’s take

Pierre-Louis has not yet set an official visit with Miami but is working towards that and says, “Miami might get an official visit for sure.” With a strong bond developed, getting the talented IOL back on campus for an official visit should be the next goal for the Hurricanes as they look to firmly establish themselves as one of Pierre-Louis’ top schools.
