Miami commit Judd Anderson discusses his growing bond with UM staff and the Hurricanes’ 2024 recruiting class

Miami commit Judd Anderson discusses his growing bond with UM staff and the Hurricanes’ 2024 recruiting class

Since his pledge to the Miami Hurricanes in April, Gray (GA) Jones County QB Judd Anderson has continued to strengthen and develop his relationship with the Miami staff, which has led to his firm commitment to the program.

“It’s been great,” Anderson told CaneSport when asked how everything has been since his commitment. “Me and the coaching staff have been building a bond that’s really special right now. I think talking to coach Shannon Dawson as much as I can is really important as we get closer to the season and signing day. Getting texts from coach Mario Cristobal and all the coaches every day is really important to me, too. It’s a real special place with a special feeling.”

Throughout his recruiting process, Miami has made it known that the three-star quarterback is their guy for the 2024 cycle, which has only strengthened his commitment to the Hurricanes.

“It’s a blessing, and that’s something that’s really important to them and really important to me,” Anderson said. “It’s a two-way commitment, and knowing that I’m the only guy they’re going to take and also that I’m not playing around with other schools is a really special thing. I think ultimately it’s a blessing because you don’t get many opportunities like that.”

Despite continued efforts from a handful of other programs looking to lure Anderson away from Miami, including ACC foe Pittsburgh, Anderson has remained solid with his pledge.

“They were trying to talk to me and get around me more, but I shut that door a while ago,” Anderson said. “I just told them that I was 100% locked in with Miami and I wasn’t playing with any other teams. I’m not going anywhere.”

Anderson is pleased to see the 2024 class continuing to grow

With the recent commitment of Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna four-star receiver Joshisa Trader, Anderson could not be more thrilled with the addition to the Miami’s recruiting class.

Along with Trader, the top commit in the 2024 class, Anderson expressed enthusiasm about having the opportunity to throw to another wideout commit, Chance Robinson.

“It’s really special that I get to have guys like JoJo and Chance around me just to let it fly,” Anderson said. “It’s really important to have good receivers in your 2024 class, and having a good five-star and a high four-star who are just two guys who are known for making plays is super important. It’s awesome knowing you’ll have those weapons to throw to, and hopefully we pick another one up pretty soon.”

CaneSport’s take

It’s great for Anderson to be solid in the class, and with Miami’s upcoming end-of-summer prospects BBQ right around the corner, Anderson says he’ll be on hand and is hoping to build more of a connection with his fellow 2024 pledges and Hurricanes staff during his time on campus. “I’m looking forward to talking with JoJo and the new commits more,” Anderson said. We’ve got a couple of new additions, and I think that’s going to be fun and enjoyable. I’m excited for that, and I’m excited to be around that coaching staff and see what’s going on and happening.”
