Miami commit Elias Rudolph could bring his 3-star WVU commit friend when he visits Hard Rock: “It’s never too late”

Cincinnati (Ohio) Taft four-star 2024 EDGE Elias Rudolph has yet to take his game day visit after committing to Miami last month, but when he does eventually return to campus he may bring his three-star West Virginia commit friend with him.
Jay’Quan Bostic, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound receiver and Rudolph’s teammate, could join Rudolph when he returns to Miami later this year, although Rudolph does not yet have a visit date locked in with the Hurricanes. Bostic worked out for Miami earlier this summer and has maintained contact with Hurricanes receivers coach Kevin Beard, who still reaches out to the Mountaineer pledge.
“They still text me before my games and wish me luck,” Bostic said. “I feel like the workout (at Miami over the summer) was great. I’m just laying out all of my options right now.”
Bostic is considering making a final decision to shut down his recruitment around Week 7 or 8 of his season, but he’s still open to considering different schools. Illinois and Kentucky have pursued him the hardest, but Miami has been sure to keep in touch. He and Rudolph talk about their college paths as well.
“I talk to him about it all the time,” Bostic said. “He chose Miami, but you never know what I’m gonna do, man. It’s never too late. We don’t sign until December, so I’ve got a lot of time.”
Rudolph talks up Miami to Bostic – including hyping up Miami’s Week 2 win over No. 23 Texas A&M. Rudolph chuckles as he says that he’s “trying to get my boy to stay with me.” Bostic said he sees himself returning to Miami, Arkansas, Illinois and Kentucky for game day visits, and that if he does visit Miami, it will most likely be alongside Rudolph.
“I think (Miami) is on the come up, seeing what they did to Texas A&M,” Bostic said. “They have great facilities, great education, the coaches are great, they want to see their players win and just reach the next level. (Rudolph) is committed to Miami. It would be great to go to a school with him so we could be roommates and have that feel together.”
CaneSport’s Take
Miami hasn’t recruited Bostic as hard as some other receiver prospects in the 2024 class, but continuing to keep the line open with prospects like him tells us the Hurricanes would still like to add another wideout in this year’s class. Bostic said he felt his workout at Miami this summer went well, and the Canes are interested enough to ensure he doesn’t forget about them.
