Miami 4-star WR target shares thoughts on Hurricanes’ new look: ‘They are one of the top schools for sure’
Boynton Beach (Fla.) Palm Beach Central 2025 four-star receiver Kamare Williams has liked what he’s seen from Miami so far this season, and it’s helping the Hurricanes maintain their position on the top-300 recruit’s radar.
Williams, a 6-foot-4, 174-pound prospect with nearly a dozen Power Five offers, has visited Miami, Florida, Florida State, LSU and Auburn this year, and the Hurricanes have ramped up communication with the No. 38 received since coaches became permitted to directly call and text 2025 prospects Aug. 1. He’s been impressed with Miami’s revamped offense under first-year offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson and the team’s competitiveness through the first two games.
“They’ve looked pretty good,” Williams said. “I like the offense they run. It looks like ours a little. They’ve looked good. They are one of the top schools for sure.”
He’s talked to Miami receivers coach Kevin Beard and assistant director of recruiting Mike Rumph roughly twice a week as the Hurricanes have kept him on their radar. Auburn, Florida State, Penn State, Florida and Louisville have begun communicating with Williams much more frequently since the star of August, and he said he feels they all show roughly the same amount of attention.
“I don’t know (who would be the top school),” Williams said when asked which of the programs stands out the most. “They’re all showing the same love.”
Williams attended Miami’s Sept. 9 game against Texas A&M and hopes to visit Auburn this fall as well. He attended the Tigers’ end-of-summer recruiting cookout in late July and has been exceptionally complimentary of Hugh Freeze’s program, although he’s still working to set up a date for a rerturn visit.
CaneSport’s Take
Williams performed well on 7-on-7 circuits earlier this summer and saw his recruitment gain some traction, but his fall season will likely determine the stage he’s recruited on as the 2025 class steps into the spotlight.
His size and length makes him an incredibly intriguing prospect if he can couple his potential with production throughout the course of his junior season, which would only drive his stock up. Auburn appears to have gained momentum early and is in a good position, so we’ll see if and when Miami decides to turn up the heat.
The Canes have already demonstrated enough interest in the four-star recruit to establish a foundation for a relationship down the road by bringing him to campus and getting him to Hard Rock for a game, so we’ll see what direction Miami moves in going forward.
