Miami 4-star commit Chance Robinson locks in Hurricanes official visit with in-state rival in pursuit

Miami 2024 four-star receiver commit Chance Robinson is still receiving serious recruiting efforts from several programs, although he remains locked in with the Hurricanes after scheduling an official visit to Coral Gables.

Robinson will take his official visit to Miami June 23 after visiting Penn State and Florida earlier in the month. The Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas product is the No. 135 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking, No. 24 receiver and currently Miami’s highest-ranked commit in the 2024 recruiting class.

“It’s home,” the 6-foot-1, 180-pound receiver said about his official visit to the Hurricanes. “I’ve always got to go back home and show the family love. That was locked in stone, that was set in stone, and I had to get back down there.”

The Hurricanes are still recruiting Robinson with the same intensity as before he committed at Miami’s spring game April 14, he said, and “everything is the same” in terms of his communication with the staff.

“There’s not a day I don’t pick up my phone and they’re not saying something to me,” Robinson said. “It’s family, it’s love over there just talking with those guys.”

Other programs, specifically Florida and Penn State, are “just trying to show (Robinson) something different” and trying to pry Robinson’s attention away from Coral Gables. He remains locked in with Miami but is still open to hearing from other programs.

“(Florida) has been on the trail hard, and I appreciate a lot of those guys over there too,” Robinson said. “I’m gonna check them out. They’ve been talking to me every day as well.”

Several other programs communicate with Robinson as much as Miami, he said, but added his head is straight.

CaneSport’s Take

Miami been the frontrunner throughout Robinson’s recruitment, and very little is changing. He made it clear after his commitment he’s willing to consider other programs, like most high school prospects who commit during the spring, but there’s little reason to worry about his status with Miami — especially with the Hurricanes continuing to recruit him as hard as they are.

Miami will still roll out the red carpet for one of the top receivers in the 2024 class during his official visit, but there’s plenty of reason for excitement about Robinson heading into his June official visits.
