Mel Kiper, Todd McShay release updated first-round NFL mock draft
The 2023 NFL Draft is creeping ever closer, with the beginning of this year’s action now inside of two weeks away. So the NFL mock drafts are hitting overdrive, and ESPN’s Mel Kiper and Todd McShay combined to release a complete three-round mock draft.
The duo will debut the first round of their NFL mock draft live in a SportsCenter Special on Tuesday evening.
Much of the top 10 is unchanged, though one quarterback fell out of the early picks this time around, something definitely worth noting. That was Kentucky‘s Will Levis, who fell to No. 11 with the Tennessee Titans.
But three quarterbacks were still selected in the top four picks by the ESPN analysts.
The ESPN duo rotated picks throughout the mock draft, with Mel Kiper selecting on the odd-numbered picks and Todd McShay selecting on the even-numbered picks.
So Kiper started things out of the gates by having the Carolina Panthers select Alabama quarterback Bryce Young at No. 1 overall. McShay followed with the Houston Texans taking Ohio State‘s Bryce Young at No. 2 overall. Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson came in at pick No. 4, taken by the Indianapolis Colts.
A pair of SEC defenders rounded out the top five picks.
Alabama defensive end Will Anderson went at No. 3 overall to the Arizona Cardinals, while Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter went at No. 5 overall to the Seattle Seahawks.
You can view their complete first-round NFL mock draft as of April 18, 2023, below.
