Meet the new offered Michigan targets coming out of the BBQ at The Big House

Michigan held its annual BBQ at The Big House last weekend and extended five new offers.

The Wolverine provides early intel on the prospects following the barbecue and where U-M currently stands.

On300 WR Mike Brown, Houston (Tex.) Legacy School of Business, 2026

Mike Brown is the highest-ranked Michigan target, according to On3, who notched an offer at the barbecue. Native to Houston, he made the flight north last week, worked out with wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy, and left with the Wolverines on his board. Bellamy has deep connections in the Lone Star State, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Brown potentially return as early as this year to catch a game at The Big House. Only Texas and Oklahoma have welcomed Brown to their respective campuses twice, hence their frontrunner status on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. However, a summer trip to Ann Arbor indicates that Brown is taking into account moving further away from home to play at the next level.

Four-star OT Felix Ojo, Mansfield (Tex.) Lake Ridge, 2026

Felix Ojo met with Michigan offensive line coach Grant Newsome and Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore on his first-ever visit to Ann Arbor last week. He participated in a workout that Newsome led and thinks Moore’s leadership could spring U-M to competing for a second-straight College Football Playoff title. With the Wolverines enjoying a history of sending offensive linemen to the NFL, receiving an offer from them had a lot of meaning for Ojo. Oklahoma, Texas, and Alabama, and others have all offered Ojo, and the three aforementioned SEC team are the RPM leaders to land the four-star.

Three-star TE Lincoln Keyes, Saline (Mich.) High, 2026

Lincoln Keyes had visited Michigan four times prior to his appearance for the barbecue. Previously, he camped inside Al Glick Field House and then stopped by three times during spring camp. Keyes grew up watching the Wolverines because his hometown is very close to Ann Arbor. Last week, he met with tight ends coach Steve Casula and Moore again, and the outcome was U-M entering the mix. Keyes is confident that he can fit in the tight end room that currently has a projected 2025 first-round draft pick in Colston Loveland, and he has the team high on his list. Keyes is eyeing fall visits to Michigan as well as MSU, Ohio State, Georgia, and others.

Three-star OL Bear McWhorter, Kingston (Ga.) Cass, 2026

Bear McWhorter is a former Arkansas commit, having been locked in with the Razorbacks for 10 months before he reopened his recruitment and expanded his horizons. Michigan welcomed McWhorter back to campus for the barbecue after he experienced a Junior Day event in January of last year. When McWhorter met with Moore last week, the head coach extended the offer, which was met with considerable appreciation. NC State is the RPM favorite because of McWhorter’s four unofficial visits to Raleigh. Along with the Wolverines and Wolfpack, the mauler has taken offseason trips to Alabama and Texas A&M.

Three-star EDGE Jacob Alexander, Frankfort (Ill.) Lincoln-Way East, 2026

Jacob Alexander received a Michigan offer two days after returning from the barbecue. He underwent drill instruction and connected with defensive line coach Lou Esposito, who passed down the formal interest. Alexander comes from Chicagoland, where Esposito holds a litany of recruiting ties. It’s also the same region where the Wolverines have landed at least one commit in the past seven cycles. Alexander knows how many players grew up in the same place as him and enrolled at U-M. The team’s success rate of developing NFL-ready pass rushers is also catching his attention. Alexander is eyeing an in-season return for a game. Other notable offers Alexander has reaped include Purdue, Illinois, Minnesota, Cincinnati, Nebraska, Rutgers, Louisville, Kansas, and Missouri.
