Malik Beasley signs one-year deal with Milwaukee Bucks

Free agent guard Malik Beasley has signed a one-year deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, per Shams Charania of The Athletic. It will mark the fifth team he has played for as he gets set to enter the eighth season of his NBA career.
Beasley began this past season on the Utah Jazz before being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers near the NBA’s trade deadline. He went on to appear in 26 games with 14 starts in LA, averaging 11.1 points per game while shooting 35.3% from 3-point range. However, he fell out of the rotation during the Lakers’ run to the Western Conference Finals, at times not even cracking the rotation.
Beasley began his career with the Denver Nuggets after being selected 19th overall out of Florida State in 2016. He played three-and-a-half seasons in Denver before being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2019-20 season. Two years later in 2021-22, Beasley broke the franchise record for most 3-pointers made in a season with 240.
Known as a sharpshooter, Beasley averages 37.8% from beyond the arc for his career. That is something he’ll hope to add to a Milwaukee team that last season ranked 10th as a team with a 3-point shooting percentage of 36.8%.
