Major 2025 target heading to Ohio State for Western Kentucky game
COLUMBUS — A major 2025 prospect is making his first game-day visit at Ohio State this weekend.
Four-star Washington (Okla.) tight end Nate Roberts will make the long journey to Ohio State this weekend. His visit is expected to start Friday when he and his family arrive in town. Roberts is the No. 2 tight end and No. 135 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings.
On3 has Roberts ranked at No. 7 and No. 246, respectively.
The 6-foot-4, 235-pound tight end from central Oklahoma will make his second visit to Ohio State. His debut visit was this summer during a recruiting camp. Head coach Ryan Day and tight end coach Keenan Bailey offered Roberts in May.
Roberts was formerly committed to Notre Dame but rescinded his commitment to the Irish on Aug. 15.
Lettermen Row sources have confirmed Roberts’ visit to campus this weekend as he does not have a game this weekend. With a Friday arrival that will give him and his family and opportunity to see an Ohio State walk-through and spend more time with coaches including Bailey and Day.
Roberts had a tremendous sophomore season last fall for Washington. He totaled 705 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns on 33 receptions.
Ohio State has offered eight tight ends in the 2025 cycle including in-state prospect Luka Gilbert and legacy prospect Landon Pace. Both of those tight ends visited campus multiple times this summer will visit at some point this fall.
The Buckeyes have two tight ends in their 2024 class with Max LeBlanc and Damarion Witten. In 2023 they signed Jelani Thurman.
Ohio State only has one committed prospect in the 2025 cycle in four-star Bellefontaine (Ohio) quarterback Tavien St. Clair.
