Lucky Charms: What I’m hearing on Notre Dame’s midweek official visitors
Here are today’s Lucky Charms, a Monday-Thursday insider notes article on Notre Dame football recruiting.
*** Winston-Salem (N.C.) Mount Tabor’s JaDon Blair, the No. 155 overall recruit and No. 15 safety in America according to the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking, took his Notre Dame official visit this week, and it went very well. You’ll be able to read my article from my interview with JaDon and his father tomorrow morning, and they raved about their time on campus. Notre Dame went into the trip as likely the leader in his recruitment, and that’s where the Irish are at following the trip. Blair is so comfortable at Notre Dame and has a strong family connection with the Irish staff.
Blair heads to Michigan this weekend and has Florida State in the midweek, followed by Penn State to finish things. The four-star prospect has a July 5 commitment date, and the feeling has been for a while that he’ll end up choosing between Michigan, Notre Dame or Penn State. It’s felt more like a ND-PSU battle for a while, but the Wolverines are coming on strong. We’ll see where things go from here, but ND is in a great spot.
*** La Verne (Calif.) Bonita’s Dylan Robinson, the No. 255 overall recruit and No. 9 “athlete” in America per the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking, had his first experience at Notre Dame this week and loved it. He’s taken official visits to Washington and Utah already and heads to UCLA next weekend. Sources tell Blue & Gold that Robinson the the Fighting Irish and Huskies are the schools with the best chance to land him. There’s not a strong sense as to which school he’s leaning towards after the trip.
*** Fishers (Ind.) High’s JonAnthony Hall, the No. 306 overall prospect and No. 45 wideout in the country per the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking, took his first Notre Dame recruiting trip this week. Fighting Irish sources feel that Notre Dame leads for the four-star recruit coming off the trip, but he’s still fairly open. You might think that Notre Dame would be a slam dunk to beat out Northwestern, Purdue and Stanford — his other official visits this month — but I’m told Hall really could pick any of these programs. I’m told Hall can be unpredictable, but Notre Dame should be considered the team to beat for him.
Notre Dame has two receiver commits and would like to take a couple more and hosts four receiver targets this week (Hall, Robinson, Derek Meadows and Tanook Hines—latter two are this weekend). There’s no telling who the Irish will land of the group, but they seem to be in good shape with each of them.
