Lucky Charms: Notre Dame recruiting tidbits on Guerby Lambert and Bredell Richardson

Here are today’s Lucky Charms, a Monday-Thursday nightly insider notes article on Notre Dame football recruiting.
*** I posted a tidbit on the board Monday night on West Roxbury (Mass.) Catholic Memorial’s Guerby Lambert, and On3’s Chad Simmons followed it up with an article where he interviewed Lambert Tuesday morning. Make sure to check it out if you haven’t yet.
It was quite the uplifting article from a Notre Dame standpoint, as Lambert referred to the Fighting Irish as “the team to beat” for him. When asked about his former high school teammate and current Irish defensive lineman Boubacar Traore, Lambert said, “It will be good to be teammates probably again.”
I also found it pretty interesting and telling that Lambert said Notre Dame reminds him of his high school, while Ohio State does not. I get the sense that this is a positive for the Irish and a negative for the Buckeyes. I had been feeling pretty good about Notre Dame’s standing in Lambert’s recruitment and logged a prediction for him to land with the Irish June 26, but I’m even more confident in where ND is at for Lambert after seeing this interview and having more discussion with sources on him. He won’t make a final decision until August from what Lambert told Simmons, but this is looking really good for the Irish.
Boston College and Harvard are the other competitors for Lambert, who ranks as the No. 51 prospect and No. 4 offensive tackle per the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking.
*** Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day’s Bredell Richardson, the No. 364 overall prospect and No. 60 wide receiver per the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking, tweeted the following on Monday: “ND fans I’ll be back soon.” Regarding 2024 receiver recruiting following Isiah Canion‘s decommitment, I’ve mentioned that the Irish staff will circle back to older targets. Richardson is one of them, but I’m not getting the sense in talking to sources that the staff is pushing all in on Richardson or anything close to that right now. They’re still sorting through options, and Richardson is far from the only receiver the Irish staff is in contact with right now — there are many others.
I’d expect Notre Dame to get an in-person evaluation on Richardson before making a strong push for him. He announced a top-four schools list of LSU, Michigan, Michigan State and Oregon back in late May, and it’s interesting that he hasn’t committed to one of those programs yet. Have his options changed?
My read is that Richardson is unlikely to end up at Notre Dame, but he’s a receiver prospect who the staff is monitoring.
