Lucky Charms: Handful of prospects added to Notre Dame’s July 30 visitor list

Here are today’s Lucky Charms, a Monday-Thursday nightly insider notes article on Notre Dame football recruiting.

*** Notre Dame’s big cookout recruiting event is just a few days away, as a few Irish commits in the 2024 class and a handful of 2025 targets will make their way to campus July 30. We’ve already reported on a handful of these players at Blue & Gold, and there are a few more that we learned about today.

One addition to the list is Indianapolis Ben Davis’ Mark Zackery, the nation’s No. 187 overall player and No. 20 cornerback per the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking. This will be Zackery’s third trip to campus, as he also saw the Irish knock off Clemson last fall and was back in South Bend last month. Notre Dame offered Zackery in May, and he’s added offers from the likes of Michigan, Ohio State and Georgia since. This is a big-time player in Notre Dame’s home state; the Irish need to land this young man.

*** Offer watch here — Overland Park (Kan.) St. Thomas Aquinas’ Julian Marks, who ranks as the No. 228 overall player and No. 25 defensive lineman per the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking, tells Blue & Gold that he’ll make it to campus Sunday. Kansas State, Missouri, Iowa, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Washington and Tennessee are among Marks’ offer list. He’s a massive prospect just going into his junior season; he stands at a reported 6-7, 255 pounds.

*** Notre Dame is keeping track of Noblesville (Ind.) High’s Israel Oladipupo, an unranked class of 2025 EDGE, and will host him for a visit July 30. Ball State, Bowling Green, Western Michigan, Akron, Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan are the schools that have offered him. Oladipupo stands at a reported 6-3, 220 pounds.

*** We’ve confirmed that the following 2024 Notre Dame commits will be on campus: Saline (Mich.) High quarterback CJ Carr, Glen Ellyn (Ill.) Glenbard South receiver Cam Williams, West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West safety Taebron Bennie-Powell and Clearwater (Fla.) Academy International defensive tackle Sean Sevillano. Fishers (Ind.) Hamilton Southeastern offensive lineman Styles Prescod and Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller cornerback Karson Hobbs may make it in as well.

*** Here’s a reminder that Lucedale (Miss.) George County’s Deuce Knight, the No. 56 overall player and No. 3 quarterback per the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking, is visiting Notre Dame this week. He arrives in South Bend late tonight and will get a full day on campus Thursday. He’ll head back to his home state tomorrow and will visit Ole Miss on Friday.
