LSU’s impressive visitor list for Grambling taking shape

LSU’s impressive visitor list for the Grambling game this weekend is taking shape. Here are a few names to know ahead of the home opener.

*** Duncanville (Tex.) is a program that LSU’s got two commitments from and are going to continue to work to add more to the group. 2025 five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore and 2024 four-star running back Caden Durham are both planning to be in Baton Rouge for the game. 2024 Five Star Plus+ EDGE Colin Simmons is someone we’re watching as well. He’s wanted to come down to see the atmosphere in Tiger Stadium for this game in particular. Obviously, Texas would like to see that not happen. The big thing that we’re watching with these guys is their obligations to Duncanville have a lot of weight, which could include Saturday film sessions. Moore confirmed with The Bengal Tiger that he’ll be in Baton Rouge, which is a good sign.

*** 2024 Shreveport (La.) Evangel Christian defensive lineman and Texas A&M commit Gabriel Reliford confirmed to The Bengal Tiger he’ll be on campus this weekend. The staff’s been pushing for him to get to Baton Rouge and listen to their pitch. He plans to come down with his family and LSU is going to get their shot to flip him. There are no guarantees when it comes to this recruitment, but getting him on campus is a good start.

*** Shreveport (La.) Calvary Baptist running back James Simon and wide receiver John Simon are both expected to attend. Their father is, John, is on staff at Grambling. James is a massive 2025 target for the Tigers while John is a 2024 Louisiana Tech commit. It’s a return for both players to Baton Rouge after multiple visits over the last few months. LSU is turning the heat up on James even more as they continue to chip away at the highly-talented back.

*** LSU is expecting 2025 four-star tight end Logan Brooking this weekend. In today’s edition of “time to feel old,” he’s the son of former Pro Bowl linebacker Keith Brooking. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Brooking is the No. 314 overall prospect and No. 17 tight end in the nation.
