LSU offer excites 2025 Peach State LB Tavion Wallace
2025 Jesup (Ga.) Wayne County linebacker Tavion Wallace is already a household name for many college coaches around the country. Ohio State, South Carolina, Cincinnati and others have come calling lately.
LSU was also one of the latest programs to enter the mix. The offer from the SEC program was one he’s been waiting on for a while now.
“It was pretty good. I couldn’t even sit down today,” Wallace told On3. “I was so happy when I got that. I’ve been waiting on that one. It’s crazy because me and my mom just talked about it. She said, ‘be patient,’ and it happened.
“In the past years, how they’re winning. I’ve seen how their coaches coach and it just seems like a good place to be. The energy in Death Valley, I love it there. I like how loud it gets.”
Wallace visited Baton Rouge when his brother, Kentucky linebacker Trevon Wallace, was being recruited by the Tigers.
LSU defensive coordinator Matt House was in town to see Tavion work out. The offer came after that workout.
“He was pretty good. Pretty solid guy. He walked in when I was working out,” Wallace said. “I didn’t see him at first, but when I got done with my bench, I was like, ‘oh, that’s LSU right there.’ We’re going to keep in contact. He likes the type of player I am.”
Wallace visited Florida State this spring, but hasn’t been on other visits just yet. He plans to take more in the summer, but Mike Norvell’s program stood out. He wants to return to Tallahassee.
“Their coaches are real,” he said. “They’re not patty caking nothing, not sugar coating nothing.”
Kentucky is a program that’ll be linked to him with his brother playing for the Wildcats.
“I like all their coaches,” Wallace said. “They’re all pretty cool. I like the atmosphere down there in Lexington, too.”
Troy is another program that stands out with former Kentucky assistant Jon Sumrall, who recruited his brother, now leading the Trojans.
“I like everything. He’s just a real coach. I built my bond with him with my brother at Kentucky. He’s just been solid ever since.”
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Wallace ranks as the No. 46 overall prospect in the country, No. 5 linebacker in the nation and No. 10 prospect in Georgia. Florida State leads the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
