LSU MBB recruiting notes: Updates on three major targets

LSU’s coaching staff understands the importance of this 2024 class in building a consistently competitive program in the SEC, and now the urgency is beginning to turn up as we head towards the fall.
Here’s an update on three key players on LSU’s board and my thoughts on each player’s recruitment.
Curtis Givens
Four star guard Curtis Givens was originally scheduled to visit LSU on June 21-22, but the visit has been pushed back. There’s no set date at the moment for his potential visit, but he remains one of the top targets on LSU’s board this summer.
When Givens named his top seven schools, he had Georgia Tech and LSU visits planned for the month of June, He went through with his Georgia Tech visit on June 2 and since then has not made any visits known to the public.
Givens’ top seven was Georgia Tech, LSU, Indiana, UConn, Villanova, Memphis, and Texas. The 6-foot-3 guard from Memphis, Tennessee plays at Montverde Academy.
At this moment, it seems Georgia Tech is in the lead and LSU is working to get back in the picture by getting him on campus later in the summer or in the fall before he makes his decision.
Robert Miller
Robert Miller visited LSU back in April, but since then, there hasn’t been much chatter. In May it was still clear that LSU viewed Miller as perhaps the top prospect on its board, but since then, Miller has taken two visits — neither back to Baton Rouge.
The first was an official to Colorado on June 2-4, then an unofficial to Texas June 19. He also locked in an official visit to Texas in September. LSU will need another visit in the fall, but we have not heard anything new on that front. We’ll keep y’all updated.
It still looks like Texas is in the driver’s seat at the moment, but we’ll see if the LSU staff can pry Miller out of the Lone Star State.
Devon Pryor
Since decommitting from LSU, Devon Pryor has added offers from Penn State and TCU. He’s also been targeted by Oklahoma State, Colorado, and Texas A&M in this process.
I did think his commitment to LSU felt a bit rushed, considering how fast he committed after McMahon offered. I could see LSU still being in the mix, but this will likely draw out until the fall.
We’re working to get upcoming visitors for the coming months, so stay tuned to The Bengal Tiger for more basketball recruiting notes.
