LSU-committed IOL Khayree Lee Jr. updates the latest in his recruitment

Khayree Lee Jr. is ready for one more push for a trip to the Superdome.

One of The Boot’s most decorated offensive linemen the past two seasons, the 6-foot-5, sub-300-pound Lee enters his senior season at Marrero (La.) John Ehret High School outside of New Orleans committed in-state to LSU and set to anchor the left side of the Patriots up front.

Lee, the On3 Industry Ranking’s No. 41-rated interior OL, has narrowed his focus ahead of his senior season down to one.

“Personally, I just want to go to state,” Lee told On3 after Ehret’s fall scrimmage on Wednesday. “I need to go state, we need to go state … we have too much talent on this team and we have the confidence, so we’re going to state for sure.”

Lee believes Tigers’ 2024 class has championship DNA

Lee was among the first dominoes to fall in LSU’s 2024 recruiting class last November shortly after making a string of visits to Baton Rouge and landing an offer from Brad Davis in the process.

Lee, one of 16 recruits who currently reside in or hail from Louisiana in this haul, likes the makeup of the Tigers’ No. 6-rated recruiting class.

“I got a lot of faith in us,” Lee said of the class. “We have a lot of talent, a lot of good guys. I met with them and we want to come in as one and try to win a national championship.”

Lee already has locked in a return to Baton Rouge for September 9 when the Tigers host Grambling. That’ll be the first of many visits, the three-star OL noted.

“I’ll be in Baton Rouge a lot for sure,” Lee said.

Davis is leading the way with Lee

Davis has been the lead recruiter for the state’s No. 13-rated recruit. Lee’s development has been a major cog in the pair’s connection.

Lee worked out with Davis in person at multiple LSU camps this summer. Now, the New Orleans-based lineman believes he is poised for his best campaign yet.

“I feel very good,” Lee started. “My game has gotten better. I’ve been working on a few more things, tweaking some things, and I’m locked in to do what I need to do.”

“Finishing every play,” he continued, “and don’t let up. Keep doing your job and do what you’ve got to do, and you’ll see the results.”

Lee is tabbed as the No. 501 overall player in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies
